Summer Olympics

The opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympics is coming up this Friday! Whether you love viewing individual events or team events, there’s something for everybody.

The London Olympics present an opportunity also to cheer on current and former Trojans! There may well be more than 30 athletes playing sports such as water polo, volleyball, and track representing the Trojan household. There are also lots of present USC coaches whom are lending their coaching expertise during the Olympic games.

USC has a tradition that is long of Olympic athletes. From 1904 to 2008, there were almost 400 athletes who either attended the university before, during, or after their Olympic competition. USC has delivered more athletes to your Olympics than other college and our athletes have made a total that is grand of medals.

The Olympics really are a time to cheer on our country’s athletes and also unite together for a platform that is global. I enjoy viewing the beach volleyball matches and I also’m excited to see just how far the two former Trojans contending in beach volleyball go! The Expo Line is Finally Open!!!

After six years of expectation the expansion of Los Angeles’s light rail train system (LA Metro) has finally exposed. The Expo Line is the way that is perfect USC pupils, staff, and faculty to obtain around the city without getting behind the wheel. The line that is new three stops straight next door from our campus. One end is on the side that is northeast of therefore the other two take the south side of campus.

By utilising the Expo Line, students can go almost anywhere in the city and take full benefit of just what Los Angeles has to offer. It’s just a short ride that is five-minute the Expo Line to the LA Metro Station and from there students can connect to the other light rail train lines that run through the city.

Some members of our office have already traded in their cardinal and parking that is gold for the monthly metro pass to overcome their commutes to work. Welcome Straight Back, Students!

Summer is arriving at a close. Classes at USC resume week that is next. And the most exciting things are happening on campus this week—our students are moving in! Our campus is busy with students and families getting everything all set for the year that is academic. Welcome Week has officially begun.

In between the necessary tasks like becoming a member of the USCard , becoming familiar with the libraries on campus, and picking out a meal plan, students and parents have actually multiple events and tasks to choose from during Welcome Week. There was A welcome Reception designed for moms and dads hosted by the USC Parents Council and also the Office for Parent Programs to start linking parents with all the resources our campus has to provide them.
